My breath could not blow out the light,
And melting slowly with the flame
Was more than I could bear that night,
So I took a knife and cut the frame.
I threw the burning part away,
Let it burn whoever it may,
This fire is not mine today,
I got free by choosing to be less
I'm not made to burn this way,
I'll carve my wick out from inside,
To burn again another day,
A calm and slow-burning candle, steady,
Until I learn to be,
I will transform — losing, melting, in agony.
Writing is my way of understanding myself and the world. Through essays and reflections, I explore identity, language, and transformation — the small moments that shape who we are.
