Silence

That is why not everyone who seems quiet is at peace.

There was so much to say.

Perhaps that is why you stayed silent.

Sometimes people don't become quiet because they fear they won't be understood, but because they know they will never be able to express something completely.

Some things become smaller the moment they are spoken.

A thought that has been growing inside begins to lose something once it leaves you. After experiencing this enough times, you learn to carry certain sentences within yourself instead of giving them away.

That is why not everyone who seems quiet is at peace.

Some people are simply carrying too much noise inside them.

And perhaps the most exhausting place to exist is somewhere between that inner noise and the silence of the outside world. Because just because everyone is talking doesn't mean anyone is truly saying anything.

After a while, I noticed myself drifting away from ordinary conversations. I was surprised by how people could spend days talking about the same things.

I was surprised by how easily entire days could be filled with small resentments, repeated stories, and endless details about other people's lives.

To me, it all began to feel less like the world and more like an imitation of it.

Because when you're searching for genuine closeness, you eventually realize that many relationships are little more than mutual distraction.

And once you see that, returning to the crowd becomes difficult.

Sometimes people choose solitude not because they love being alone, but because it is the place where they lose themselves the least.

But with time, I came to understand something else.

Silence is not always an escape.

Sometimes it is the last act of respect a person can offer themselves.

Not every thought needs to be shared. Not every wound requires a witness. Some feelings begin to lose their meaning the moment they are handed over to someone else's understanding.

Perhaps that is why the deepest transformations happen quietly.

No one notices.

No one applauds.

One morning, a person wakes up in the same body, yet they are no longer the same person.

From the outside, nothing appears to have changed. Yet somewhere inside, a wall that had been holding an entire life together has already collapsed.

That is what makes silence so unsettling.

A person may appear completely still while an entire universe rearranges itself within them.

Perhaps that is why quiet people are so difficult to understand.

They are shaped less by what they say than by everything they have chosen not to say.

Eventually, silence stops being the absence of words.

It becomes the last place where a person can remain honest with themselves.

Perhaps true silence does not begin where sound ends.

Perhaps it begins where a person finally stops running from themselves.
